At Cordial World we have a diverse team working toward building our knowledge based decentralized ecosystem. Cordial’s team is truly international and we have some of the best advisors and professionals supporting us, take a look for yourself here .

Our effort only means something if we provide value to our potential supporters and future community members. This weekly series of “Building a Cordial World” is an attempt to capture the inner workings of our team; to give you a behind the scenes look of the big stage, that is the Cordial World Foundation.

This week’s updates are provided by our CEO Chris MacGregor, CDO Erin Liman, Co Founder Jochem Herber and Kelroy James joining us as part of the Percy Hobart Innovation Fellowship.

Chris MacGregor : A typical start-up week: focused on five areas!

  1. We welcomed new volunteers to the project.
  2. Refined our purpose.
  3. Explored new partnerships and routes to raise capital.
  4. Established new working practices.
  5. Worked on our brand and website design.

People are our most important asset, so I’ll start with them. We welcomed Friso Hakkers, our intern to lead our design function; David King, a MSc student to begin ‘Growth Hacking’, and Kevin Smith (formally of KPMG) as our Senior Advisor. I had an insightful meeting with Kevin and Erin, which made me reconsider our purpose and direction to ensure we’re always living up to the principles which drew us together.

Our raison d’etre is to create a better world for all through inclusive collaboration, well framed dialogue and beneficial action. We do this by bringing people together around issues and ideas. This is enabled by our plan to set the conditions for bridges between isolated islands of opinion and lived-experience. At the core of this is a recognition that inclusive outcomes require diverse thinking.

Our search for communities with whom to develop our MVP continued and I spent time talking to potential partners and the South London Partnership. So far we have 5 routes to raise capital. This week I was exploring equity crowdfunding with Crowdcube and Seedrs while continuing our plans to launch our utility token, DIAL.

At the request of Sachin Shah, our lead for software development, we’ve started using Notion to manage our internal planning. We would like to thank Notion for giving us a $1000 worth of start-up credit to get the team on-board.

With Friso starting his 20-week internship, we have focused on making our current website more relevant. So keep an eye out for an update as Siannie Quartero our brand strategist and Friso prepare for our rebranding in March. Lastly, we are excited to be a participating client for the Fundamentals of Brand course at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht; for the Creative Business program.

Erin Liman : The focus this week has been on identifying our first community of focus. Our current research survey is designed to test interest in Community Wealth Building in South London. It is now underway with a test audience. Our goal for this test is to ensure responses yield the desired feedback, so we can revise questions as needed before sharing it with residents of the five boroughs in South London.

For our MVP development, Chris and I sketched out the initial requirements using knowledge seeker and provider perspectives. We also discussed how various Web 3 communities are successfully onboarding their members using YouTube and Discord. I also began early community outreach to create an initial group of people who would provide useful early feedback on our prototype (futurist community, thought leaders from marginalized communities, etc.).

I also had a chance to revise the Cordial purpose statement so the “why” is clear and compelling, more on that soon. Now that new team members are joining and being onboarded, I met Kevin Smith (Advisor) and Chris to discuss our strategy for 2022. I also met Todd Hughes (CTO) to learn about his background and focus, and Joshua Scott (Community Manager.) to discuss how his work on community can reinforce the Cordial vision, mission and values. It’s also great to see the team coalesce around the different tools we’re using to communicate as a distributed team on Slack and Notion so we’re off and building in a coordinated way.

Jochem Herber :

The week started with a very interesting call with a blockchain team that has a unique approach; which feels like a match made in heaven. Rather than limiting blockchains, oracles and data to one chain, their services allow for fast and easy interoperability. In other words, we would not be limited to a specific chain that would run our protocols. You could use their services to connect with the Cordial world network as they connect all EVMs together under the hood. More details soon to come…

In preparation for the token launch, we are also connecting with long-term partners and we have some great people in our network who are all active in the NFT and blockchain space. Doing AMAs and connecting valuable communities together is in our DNA and is a great way for us to connect with new people.

I also started exploring roles that NFTs can play in our own ecosystem. For example, can we get NFT holders special access to Discord channels? And how can we give our NFT holders early access to the platform or even to token-sale pages? This is all very much possible, and will allow us to create a gamified experience for our communities.

We are still looking for community members who are interested in designing these NFTs for us, so feel free to connect with me if you have any great ideas on LinkedIn or Telegram.

Kelroy James : The team continues to make good progress towards the MVP in collaboration with the South London Partnership and key stakeholders. The research survey has been circulated to select participants to collect initial test data to validate key questions. Once complete, the focus will be in promoting wider distribution, particularly through the various partners, social media platforms as well as the creation of a landing page on the Cordial World website.

Whilst we await for the first sample of data to be collected, the next phase will be to begin working with the development team to build a wireframe or mockup of the MVP. This work is well underway as we begin to document project ideas within or new Notion pages.

Join our discussion, get your opinions heard and questions answered here by joining our telegram group and social media. We look forwarding to hearing from you ! Keep an eye out for more weekly updates on medium.

We aim to connect the genuinely interested with the genuinely verified
